Get A Free Ride To Drop Off Your Ballot On Election Day

DENVER (CBS4) - Voters are getting some free help getting to Colorado ballot drop-off locations on Election Day.

Bike sharing services are offering free rides and car sharing sites are giving free or discounted rides.

In Denver and Boulder, B-cycle daily membership fees will be waived. Riders still enter their credit card information, but won't be charged for rides of 30 minutes or less.

Zipcar nationwide is making more than 7,000 vehicles available free for its members to use across the U.S. Select vehicles will be free from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Zipcar members can reserve a vehicle for those select hours or try their luck Tuesday evening.

To commemorate the election of the 45th president, the ride sharing service Lyft is providing a 45 percent discount on one ride on Tuesday between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. in Denver. All Denver Lyft users can access the promotion through the Deal of the Week email they receive.

Election centers are open Tuesday until 7 p.m. across Colorado for dropping off ballots, or voting in person.
