Prominent Surrogates Campaign For Trump, Clinton

DENVER (CBS4)– Two prominent surrogates campaigned in Colorado on Friday for the presidential candidates.

Former Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson stumped for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and former President Bill Clinton campaigned for his wife and Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

Clinton spoke in Denver’s Five Points neighborhood, Fort Collins and Pueblo. He was targeting black and Hispanic voters.

“When we were still in law school, she was in south Texas registering Mexican American voters who had been shut out of the political system for more than a century. She was in South Carolina trying to get African American male teenagers, we’re talking 13 and 14 years old, out of adult prisons,” said Pres. Bill Clinton.

Carson and Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin rallied the GOP base in Colorado Springs and Castle Rock where Trump struggles with white college educated women who lean Republican but are voting for Clinton this year.

Carson focused on Obamacare, “She said, ‘I can solve this- universal health care with a single payor system’ and basically at that point you have the American people by the throat.

He also talked about the importance of school choice.

On Saturday night, Trump will rally voters at the National Western Stock Show Complex. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani will campaign earlier on Saturday to support Trump.

Former Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders will campaign for Hillary Clinton on Saturday.
