Bill Murray Crashes White House Briefing
WASHINGTON, D.C. (CBS4) - Actor and comedian Bill Murray made an unexpected appearance in the White House briefing room Friday.
Murray came to the podium shortly after White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest wrapped up the official briefing, and held court with reporters, discussing a very important topic: the National League Championship Series.
Murray's Chicago Cubs play the Los Angeles Dodgers Friday night in game six of the series, which they currently lead 3 games to 2.
"Mr. President, do you think the Cubs will win?" one reporter asked.
"I feel very confident," Murray said. "Clayton Kershaw is a great, great pitcher, but we've got too many sticks. We've got too many sticks. At home. In front of our crowd."
Murray said he was at the White House to receive the Mark Twain prize, an award for American humor, which he's supposed to receive Sunday night at the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts.
There's no word on whether Murray will actually attend the awards if his Cubs go to game 7 that night against the Dodgers.
