DENVER (CBS4)– Police in Denver issued an arrest warrant for a murder suspect wanted in the deadly shooting of a pregnant woman whose body was found inside a motel room on Colfax Avenue.
Quinasia Russell, 23, was found shot to death inside a room at the Airway Motel early Saturday morning. Those close to Russell knew her as “Nay-Nay.”
Just before 3 a.m. Saturday police rushed to the motel after witnesses heard gunshots.
Police identified Brent Kelley as the gunman but continue to investigate a motive for the shooting.
“I don’t know who shot her or why,” said Russell’s Aunt Mae.
“But whoever did it, please turn yourself in,” Mae pleaded.
Mae said Russell was well-loved and outgoing, and also said her family believes that she had a child on the way.
“I’m devastated right now,” Mae added.
