Investigators say a man was in the truck with them and was able to talk him out of murder. When they returned to the Denver metro area the woman was able to escape. She ran to the front door of a home screaming for help on Oct. 2.

Surveillance video from a house located in Wheat Ridge shows an armed man armed believed to be Garcia chasing down a woman on the front porch, grabbing her, shooting her and pulling her out to the street.

Three days later, Garcia was arrested after a hotel standoff with Denver police.

Garcia is being held at the Denver Jail on a $350,000 bond. He has a long criminal history that includes violation of immigration laws. He is set to be back in court for a preliminary hearing early next month.
