After the First Freeze of the Season, A Fair and Warmer Weekend

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - The average first freeze of the season in Denver occurs on October 7. And ironically enough, here on October 7, we experienced our first official freeze of the season when DIA dropped to 32° shortly after midnight. Friday warmed to a high of 67 degrees which is just two degrees below normal for this time of year. As we look ahead to the weekend, we will be even milder as we keep sunny skies around. Look for a high in the low 70s on Saturday and into the mid 70s on Sunday. As we look into next week - Monday (Columbus Day) will stay mostly sunny with a high in the upper 70s.

Another front and disturbance comes through the region on Tuesday and that will bring a chance for scattered showers with a cooler high close to 70. Wednesday it's right back to partly sunny skies a high in the upper 60s - just about normal for this time of year - then warmer, into the low 70s, for Thursday.
