RTD Teams Up With First Responders For Active Shooter Drill
DENVER (CBS4)- First responders in the Denver metro area teamed up with RTD for an active shooter drill.
Police, paramedics and firefighters joined the emergency drill on Thursday. There was a practice hostage situation at the light rail station located at 41st and Fox Street.
Crews worked to improve coordinating efforts to protect commuters during a similar crisis.
"We've got people playing victims, they've got makeup all ready to go. There are a lot of tweets and news calls coming, so it's very real," said RTD spokesman Nate Currey.
About 200 first responders from around the Denver metro area participated in the drill.
