Luxury RVs Worth $1 Million Stolen From Lot

By Karen Morfitt

FREDERICK, Colo. (CBS4)– Three luxury RVs were stolen from the dealership in Frederick and the owner hopes someone recognizes the vehicles in the search for the thieves.

The RVs were stolen about 9:35 p.m. Tuesday from the Transwest Truck Trailer RV in Frederick.

General Manager Andrew Lyons say the vehicles were driven out of the lot, and their surveillance cameras capture the crime.

“Some of the staff here said we can’t find a motor home, and I said well go look for it, Its got to be here somewhere… and then pretty soon we realized it was missing,” Lyons said.

Lyons says a look at their surveillance video shows at least 5 suspects pulling up to the lot in a white pickup truck.

“This wasn’t spur of the moment. This is thought out. They knew when to come here, they came between when we left and when the cleaning crew comes in. It was all orchestrated,” he said.

The video shows the crooks working to carefully open the gate. Once it is open they go right to work targeting the newest and most luxurious motorhomes.

“Just like home basically, televisions all the electronics, tile floor, heat, everything you need,” Lyons said.

The RVs are all 2017 models, including a Newmar Mountain Aire, Newmar Essex, and Newmar Dutchstar, and are valued at more than $1 million.

While the four suspects are on the lot working to get the RV’s running, the driver of that white pickup truck circles the lot.

Lyons says, nearly an hour later his cameras catch those thieves lining up and driving away.

“If we don’t get them back in the next couple of days they are gone,” he said.
