Freeze Warning For Greater Metro Area Tonight

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - Just as promised...scattered showers overnight into the Thursday morning hours with a cool high of just 53 degrees. Some foothill and mountain locations generally saw between 2 and 6 inches of snow. Clear skies overnight will allow those temperatures to drop to at or slightly below the freezing mark for the greater metro area. A Freeze Warning has been issued for eastern Colorado including Metro Denver, and for the Yampa Valley and the Gunnison Valley, with a Frost Advisory for the border counties of Yuma, Cheyenne and Kit Carson.

Sunshine returns in full force for Friday with the high about ten degrees warmer than Thursday's high. Then a nice mild weekend comes our way: plenty of sunshine with a high in the low 70s Saturday, mid 70s for Sunday, and into the mid to upper 70s for Monday, Columbus Day.
