Students Hit The Sidewalk For Walk To School Day

DENVER (CBS4)– Students across Colorado bundled up for a chilly Walk to School day on Wednesday morning.

Hundreds of schools across the state participated along with 18 schools in Denver.

Some at Cory Elementary School got some special visitors to kick off the day. Denver Mayor Michael Hancock joined Miles the Mascot to lead the students in a pre-class warm up.

Police also use Walk to School day to remind drivers to watch for pedestrians at all times and especially around school zones. Pedestrians are urged to always cross at crosswalks and intersections.
