Hurricane Matthew Appears As Skull On Radar

FORT MYERS, Fla. (CBS4) – An image of Hurricane Matthew as a skull has gone viral.

Hurricane Matthew appeared as a skull on fire on television in Fort Myers, when WINK TV’s morning meteorologist Matt Devitt was doing his forecast for the CBS-affiliated station.

Devitt posted that he “can confirm this satellite image of Matthew’s landfall is REAL and not photoshopped.”

“Weather Geek” Stu Ostro, whose Twitter bio says he’s a senior meteorologist at the Weather Channel, also tweeted out an “un-doctored weather satellite image” of Hurricane Matthew as it made landfall on Haiti.

Both images appear to show the hurricane in the shape of a skull, with an eye near the top and a toothy-grin running from the bottom left up into the center of the storm.
