Fire Danger Rises Before Colorado Cool Down

By Dave Aguilera

DENVER (CBS4) - The Fire Danger for eastern Colorado will be the big weather story for Monday. We have a high pressure ridge moving from the southern Rockies out into the central plains and a deep low pressure trough spinning in over the west coast into the Pacific Northwest. Colorado will be caught between these two systems on Monday bringing in strong southwesterly winds that will warm temperatures east of the Continental Divide with down slope, drying winds.

This will push up the Fire Danger through the day on Monday prompting a Red Flag Warning to be issue on Monday from noon to 7pm.

Behind the Tuesday cold front temperatures will drop to below normal levels and feel more like fall. With 60s in Denver on Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday will be the big game changer with a much better chance of rain and maybe a little rain mixed with snow Thursday morning. We will see.
