It is the third time in his career that Miller has won the award, passing former cornerback Champ Bailey for the most in team history.

DeMarcus Ware was the last Broncos player to win the award. Ware won the award in September of 2015.

Through three games this season, Miller leads the NFL with five sacks. Miller has made a habit of saving his best for last; four of those five sacks have come in the 4th quarter.

Miller was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after his Week 2 performance against Indianapolis when he recorded three sacks, including a strip-sack to help seal the victory over Indianapolis.

In the offseason Miller signed a six-year $114 million extension which included $70 million in guaranteed money. That contract made him the highest paid defensive player in NFL history.

Miller and the Broncos are 3-0 and will travel to Tampa Bay this weekend. You can see the game at 2:05 Sunday afternoon on CBS4.
