After 8 Days, Search Suspended For Missing Climber

PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)- After eight days of searching, crews have suspended their search for a missing man who has been described as an expert climber.

David Cook is from Albuquerque who has been missing for more than a week in Colorado's high country. He has been described as an expert climber and enthusiastic outdoorsman.

After multiple ground and air searches, the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office, along with rescue personnel, have suspended the search for Cook.

Cook, 49, planned to summit Pyramid Peak and the North and South Maroon Peaks near Aspen last week but never returned.

He was wearing a blue hiking helmet with khaki pants, a dark shirt, blue jacket, black baseball hat and carrying a black backpack. Anyone who believes they have seen Cook to call the Pitkin County Sheriff's Office at 970.920.5300.
