HUDSON, Colo. (CBS4)– Neighbors have been credited with saving the life of a woman who was stabbed in Hudson.
The stabbing happened on Sunday morning at a home on Weld County Road 47. Investigators say Johnny Cordova stabbed the woman after a fight.
Neighbors struck Cordova, 41, with gardening tools to stop him.
“It very quickly escalated to a situation where there were 10 or 12 emergency responder vehicles,” said neighbor Zack Owens. “Just craziness… we’ve never seen this large of a response out here. We’re a real tight-knit community.”
The victim was airlifted to Denver Health Medical Center in critical condition.
Cordova, will be processed in the Weld County Jail after he recovers from his injuries.
