DENVER (CBS4)– A deadly shooting has been ruled a homicide less than a day after it happened.
Officers rushed to a call of shots fired about 7 p.m. Sunday in the Montbello neighborhood at a home in the 16100 block of East Randolph Place, near 56th Avenue and Chambers Road.
Police took one female suspect, later identified as Roxanne Monique Sanchez-Jamie, into custody. Sanchez-Jamie, 32, is being held for investigation of first-degree murder.
Neighbors were shocked to learn what happened.
“You’re not supposed to walk outside your house and see somebody lying on the ground and not know where he came from… because at the time I didn’t know what happened. I know the gunshots but then where did he come from? Did he crawl, did he run? Just to see him on the ground, it’s traumatizing,” said one neighbor.
What happened leading up to the shooting is unclear. The identity of the victim has not been released.
