Unstoppable Von Miller Named AFC Defensive Player Of The Week

DENVER (CBS4) - For the third time in his career, Von Miller has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.

The linebacker led a dominating Broncos defense on Sunday in Denver's 34-20 win over the Colts. Miller attacked off the edge with at times unstoppable force throughout the game.

Miller had or shared three sacks of Colts quarterback Andrew Luck, and his strip-sack that resulted in a touchdown by defensive teammate Shane Ray with a minute and 51 seconds left was the game-clincher. He also had seven tackles.

Miller has four sacks in the first two weeks of the season, and he is the league leader in that statistic. With the playoffs and Super Bowl 50 included, Miller has nine sacks in his last four games.

Miller previously was picked for the weekly honors in Week 11 of 2011 -- his rookie year -- and Week 11 of 2012.

The Broncos travel to Cincinnati for their first road game of the season Sunday. You can see the game at 11 a.m. on CBS4.
