$7,000 Reward Offered For 'Wicked Wig Bandit' Capture

DENVER (CBS4) - The FBI is searching for the "Wicked Wig Bandit" who has held up five banks in the Denver metro area in the past month.

The bank robber has targeted banks located in Safeway and Albertsons grocery stores including one Chase, one First and three Wells Fargo locations.

"She's very aggressive and she's hitting frequently," Deborah Sherman, spokesperson for the FBI in Colorado, said.

The FBI said the woman always wears a wig and sunglasses. She also demands money while threatening to use a gun but hasn't actually showed a weapon. Despite that, the FBI said she should be considered armed and dangerous.

"Every time she goes into one of those banks, she either has a note that says 'I have a weapon,' or she says 'I have a gun,'" Sherman said. "Even though she hasn't shown a gun yet, it doesn't mean she doesn't have one."

After getting the loot, she runs away from the store.
