Kubiak Becomes 7th-Winningest Coach In Broncos History

DENVER (CBS4) - Gary Kubiak is the Broncos seventh winningest coach in team history with Sunday's win over the Indianapolis Colts.

The victory is Kubiak's 17th, which is one more than Wade Phillips, who is currently Kubiak's defensive coordinator.

Phillips was the Broncos head coach for the 1993 and 1994 seasons.

In his two seasons leading the team, Phillips went 16-16, with one playoff appearance. They lost to the then-Los Angeles Raiders in the 1993 AFC Wild Card Game after a 9-7 season.

Coach Kubiak, who once played quarterback for the team, won Super Bowl 50 in his first year as the team's head coach after going 12-4 in the regular season.

This season, after Sunday's 34-20 win over the Colts, the Broncos are now 2-0 under Gary Kubiak.
