Peyton Manning Squares Off Against OtterBox Ollie

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Peyton Manning is fighting to become the new OtterBox spokesperson over Ollie the Otter.

"Manning will serve as spokesman for the company, debuting in an ad series that begins airing Sept. 16," the Ft. Collins-based smartphone case company said in statement today.

What'll come of Ollie should he lose?

OtterBox says that, while the otter refuses to comment on the transition, he will continue to serve as a second string spokesotter.

"The ad series does a great job in conveying the light-hearted nature of the team," Manning is quoted in the company's press release. "And I"m up for the challenge of stepping into Ollie's shoes."

A total of three ads were filmed in Ft. Collins, with Otter Products employees being used as extras.

The first commercial will play on ESPN's SportsCenter program at 4 p.m. MT.
