Man Who Impersonated Police Officer Sentenced
DENVER (CBS4)- A man who was found guilty of impersonating a police officer and assaulting a woman was sentenced on Thursday.
Morris Fate was convicted of impersonating a police officer, third-degree assault and attempted sexual assault in July.
Fate, 33, offered a ride to a woman at 17th Avenue and Xenia Street on Oct. 6, 2015. Police say he grabbed her grabbed her, claiming to be a police officer and showing a badge.
The woman was able to get away and Fate was arrested a short time later.
Fate was sentenced to 18 months in the Department of Corrections and another year in Denver County Jail.
