Man Pleads Guilty In Standoff, Sentenced To 11 Years

BRIGHTON, Colo. (CBS4)- A man who kept police at bay for eight hours in Broomfield earlier this year has pleaded guilty to two charges in exchange for more than a dozen other charges dropped.

In exchange for the guilty pleas to vehicular eluding and ID theft, Shane Potts was sentenced to three and eight years, respectively, in the Department of Corrections, and 20 other charges were dropped.

Officers and SWAT teams were called to an apartment on Arista Place, near the 1stBank Center, in April where Potts kept law enforcement at bay for more than eight hours before he was finally arrested.
