Man Arrested, Accused Of Stabbing Cab Driver, Assaulting Deputies

SECURITY-WIDEFIELD, Colo. (CBS4)- Deputies in El Paso County arrested a man they believe stabbed a cab driver and assaulted two deputies on Sunday night.

Investigators say Radoslaw Szczepanski stabbed a cab driver during an argument in the Security-Widefield area south of Colorado Springs about 7:15 p.m. Sunday.

During the struggle before the stabbing the cab went off the road and struck a street sign. Once the vehicle came to a stop the suspect ran away from the scene.

Deputies caught up to Szczepanski, 52, but he refused to stop. Szczepanski challenged the deputies to fight him and then he allegedly attacked the deputies. Both deputies were taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Szczepanski was arrested and booked on attempted second-degree murder, second-degree assault on a peace officer, robbery, criminal mischief, reckless endangerment and theft.
