Abandoned Sugar Mill Catches Fire

LONGMONT, Colo. (CBS4)– An abandoned sugar mill in Longmont caught fire on Sunday evening.

Copter4 flew over the sugar mill where thick black smoke was seen coming from the building after 6 p.m. Sunday.

The building had been condemned years earlier. Fire crews were able to get control of the fire quickly.

No one was hurt.

Investigators will not enter the building because it is not safe. The cause remained under investigation.
