Mead Street Station Remains Closed After Stabbing, Suspect Still On The Loose

DENVER (CBS4) - The restaurant where a stabbing occurred on Tuesday afternoon remained closed on Wednesday with the suspect on the run.

Denver police continued to look for a man who walked into Mead Street Station, a popular bar and restaurant in the Highlands neighborhood, and stabbed a customer.

The incident happened about 4:30 p.m. in the busy Lowell Square area near 32nd Avenue and Lowell Boulevard.

"It's been a crazy 24 hours. It's hard to believe this happened right here... in this really quiet, peaceful spot," said neighbor Christian Sederberg.

The victim remained in the hospital on Wednesday.

Mead Street Station remained closed on Wednesday with the staff meeting about grief counselors. The popular restaurant will reopen on Thursday.
