ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4)– The man accused in a deadly stabbing at a Family Dollar store in Adams County has been formally charged.
The 17th Judicial District Attorney Dave Young confirmed that Anthony Dennis Grayson has been charged with first-degree murder after deliberation in the stabbing death of store manager Alejandro Alvear.
The charges allege that the stabbing occurred after an argument that began when Grayson set off an alarm as he began to leave the store at 7067 Pecos Street on Sept. 1.
Alvear, 49, died of multiple stab wounds.
Grayson was advised of the charges on Wednesday. He will appear in Adams County Court on Oct. 13 for a preliminary hearing. He remains in custody without bond.
