Pedestrian Struck On I-70, Eastbound Lanes Closed

DEER TRAIL, Colo. (CBS4)- Eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Deer Trail were closed Tuesday morning after a pedestrian was struck and killed.

Eastbound traffic was diverted to Highway 40 at mile marker 332. That is about 60 miles east of Denver.

What happened leading up to the collision is unknown. Why the pedestrian was walking in the travel lane is unknown.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.
