Warm Holiday Weekend With A Few Storms

By Dave Aguilera

DENVER (CBS4) - Scattered storms created gusty winds across the eastern plains to end the day Saturday. A few severe storms did pop over the extreme eastern plains. In fact, one storm prompted a tornado warning to be issued near Akron in Washington County where several funnel clouds were sighted.

As we head into Sunday there will be drier air working its way in so our chances for thunderstorms will dramatically drop across the Front Range and eastern plains. That being said there will be a small chance for a few severe storms in the extreme northeast corner of the state near the Nebraska and Kansas state lines. Highs across the eastern half of the state will rise into the 80s and 90s on Sunday with 70s and 80s in the mountains and west.Severe Weather Outlook Tomorrow

The next chance for thunderstorms in Denver will be a slight chance on Tuesday afternoon.
