Trump Co-Chairs For Colorado To Target Minorities
DENVER (CBS4)- Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump's campaign announced its co-chairs for Colorado on Thursday. They will be leading coalitions across the state targeting Hispanics, African Americans and women.
The co-chairs will work to keep the conversation focused on what Trump believes about the issues rather than the headlines about his comments.
Businessman Floyd Trujillo will focus on Hispanics and said education is critical for Latinos.
"The question is, what have the Democrats done for you as an individual? That's a big one for me. Take a look at education. Denver is 38 percent Hispanic, K-12 is 60 percent Hispanic and of that 50 percent will drop out," said Trujillo.
Former state representative BJ Nikkel will focus on women voters. She said she wouldn't support Trump if she thought he didn't respect women. Her strategy includes appointing women in each county to take Trump's message across the finish line.
"I'm getting a message out there to their communities to help people understand who Donald Trump is, apart from the splashy headlines and try to help them understand what it is he would do to help families," said Nikkel.
