Teen Struck By Semi While Riding Bicycle

BERTHOUD, Colo. (CBS4)- A teenager was struck while riding his bicycle in Berthoud early Tuesday morning. He was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.

The 14-year-old was riding his bike in the intersection of 10th Street and Welch Avenue just after 7 a.m. Tuesday when he was struck by a semi truck.

Larimer County Sheriff's deputies investigated what happened prior to the collision.

Traffic was rerouted around the intersection during the investigation.

The teen has not been identified. He was in surgery after the collision with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
