Lemur Taken To Out-Of-State Sanctuary Following Attack On Todder

NEDERLAND, Colo. (CBS4) - A lemur that bit a toddler in Nederland is now being cared for at a wildlife sanctuary in Florida.

An official with Colorado Parks and Wildlife said the animal is now living with other prosimians at the Endangered Primate Foundation's Prosimian Sanctuary in Jacksonville.

The illegal pet attacked the two-year-old girl last month in the Boulder County mountain town. She was not seriously hurt.

The animal's owner was cited for having an aggressive animal.

Prior to the incident, Daily Camera photographer Matt Sebastian captured a photo of two men with a lemur in Nederland, but it was unclear if that was the lemur responsible for the bite.
