Joint Practice Nearly Gets Out Of Hand At Broncos HQ
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (The Sports Xchange) - The joint practices with the 49ers nearly got out of hand Thursday, when a series of shoving matches broke out during the line drills. During one fracas, offensive lineman James Ferentz emerged with a 49ers helmet.
But it wasn't until the scuffles continued during the team period shortly thereafter that Head Coach Gary Kubiak said, "Enough."
He immediately called all offensive players into a huddle and made his sentiment clear: Stop the extracurricular activity, or prepare to practice again.
"I told them, 'Do you want to practice now or do you want to come back tonight?'" Kubiak said.
"We were too busy with other stuff, personal agendas, instead of practicing football. We settled down and finished up."
The Broncos face the 49ers in their second preseason game Saturday night at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
