Vision Mission Fair Helps Those With Eyesight Testing, Glasses

DENVER (CBS4)- There is a free vision event on Aug. 20 for those who need eyesight testing and glasses.

The Denver Lions Club/Centennial Project is partnering with Inner City Health Center/Congregational Health Ministry to host the first free Vision Mission Fair for community members who need eyesight testing and glasses.

From 9 a.m. 5 p.m., patients of all ages can have their eyes refracted with electronic equipment, and volunteers will distribute gently used glasses to those patients who need them. Bi-lingual volunteers will be on-site.

Two Optometrists (to whom Inner City Health Center regularly refers patients) will be on-site to fine tune prescriptions so patients can fill their prescriptions at reduced cost eye glass lens makers.

All activities will occur at Inner City Health Center, 3800 York, Denver, CO 80205.

Some features of our event that will provide services to folks who can't get services at the mobile vision screening unit:
• All ages
• No geographic restrictions
• Undocumented welcome
• No insurance requirements
• Several eye docs on hand – including two eye surgeons
