Pat Bowlen Considered For Pro Football Hall Of Fame

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - Broncos owner Pat Bowlen is being considered for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Bowlen, who purchased the Broncos in 1984, is among 10 people being weighed for the Contributor category.

According to the Hall of Fame's website, a Contributor is "defined as an individual who has 'made outstanding contributions to professional football in capacities other than playing or coaching.'"

The Contributors are voted on independently from all other candidates.

The Pro Football Hall of Fame will vote Tuesday on whether Bowlen will be a finalist for the honor.

Under Bowlen's ownership, the Broncos have won three Super Bowls.

In 2015, Pat Bowlen was inducted into the Broncos Ring of Fame.
