One More Hot Day Before a Cool-down Begins

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - We have more heat pumping into the state in a south-southwesterly flow and that pushed our high to 97 degrees on Tuesday - just one degree off the record high of 98 from the year 2000. We also saw a brief thunderstorm fly through the city in the early evening bringing brief rain. One more hot day on Wednesday as we push right back into the low to mid 90s with a chance for scattered late day storms.

Thursday, a cold front will be pushing into the state and as a result cooler temperatures will come our way: there will be a chance for scattered storms each day with a high in the mid to upper 80s Thursday, lower 80s on Friday, maybe only the upper 70s on Saturday! Sunday will be fair an dry with a high in the low to mid 80s.
