By Andrea Flores

PARKER, Colo. (CBS4)- Police are searching for the suspect of an attempted indecent exposure incident in Parker.

Parents and residents at the Parker Hilltop Apartments complex are on high alert after a sketch revealed the man police say tried to expose himself to two young girls.

Thursday afternoon, Parker police say a stranger approached two the unattended girls in broad daylight.

"The girls were playing inside the park, and when they were leaving, the man approached them and asked them if they wanted to see something," said Parker Police spokesman Josh Hans.

The suspect lured them from the park, and into the stairway of a nearby building.

"He went up to the second floor, and the girls stopped at the landing, so they didn't get all the way up to that second floor," said Hans. "It was at that point that he started to pull his pants down."

The girls, 8 and 11 years old, ran away and called for help.

They described the man as 30 to 55 years old, with tanned skin, dark hair, between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, with a medium build.

Erin Hargroves, the mother of a 6-year-old, says news of the indecent exposure is disturbing.

"I gave my daughter a heads up and let her know, 'If anybody every approaches you, you run away,'" said Hargroves. "'You don't say anything, or go with them.'"

Parker police say parents should have a talk about strangers with their kids early and often.

"Go through scenarios with your kids, that way, when the time comes, they know what to do," Hans said.
