Not Out of the 80s Thursday...And Again on Friday

By Ed Greene

DENVER (CBS4) - Cooler and very moist air has backed into northeast Colorado thanks to a few different clusters of thunderstorms that moved from Wyoming and into western Nebraska and Kansas. That has made the humidities pretty high and now we expect a disturbance for move through northeastern Colorado. The combination of the two could fire up thunderstorms, some of which will reach severe levels with heavy rains, lightning, gusty winds and hail and could last well into the night.

The high in Denver today was just 85 degrees ending our steak of 90 degree days at a dozen. Tomorrow should see more of the same, but maybe even a degree or two cooler, and always a chance for late day storms - high only in the low to mid 80s.

As the weekend arrives, so does summer heat: partly sunny with a few isolated storms Saturday, high around 90; partly cloudy and hot Sunday, chance for a late day storm and into the mid 90s. As we start next week, partly cloudy skies - low 90s Monday, around 90 Tuesday - chance for late storms both days.
