Von Miller Watch: Reports Say Good Chance Deal Will Get Done

DENVER (CBS4) - There appears to be a good chance the Denver Broncos will offer a contract to Super Bowl MVP Von Miller that he will accept before the NFL's franchise tag deadline, according to multiple reports.

Miller and the Broncos have been trying to negotiate a deal for months and he didn't participate in any offseason practices. He has said he won't play under the franchise tag, and is seeking a deal that would make him the highest paid non-quarterback in the league.

NFL Network's latest report indicates the offer that's set to be extended to Miller before the deadline on Friday would include at least $70 million in guaranteed money.

The deadline is 2 p.m.

Broncos analyst and former player Mark Schlereth told CBS4 on Wednesday Miller "has pressure on him to establish what the new normal contract is."

"I say good for Von," Schlereth said. "I think he deserves it. I think he's earned it. And he shouldn't take a penny less than re-establishing what the new market value is."
