Cold Springs Fire Causes Road, Highway Closures

BOULDER, Colo. (CBS4)- The Boulder Office of Emergency Management has closed Boulder Canyon to all vehicle traffic on July 11 due to the Cold Springs Fire. Officials suggest using Hwy 72 or CR 132 as alternates out of Nederland.

Other closures include Hwy 119 from Boulder to Nederland as well as south of Nederland to Hwy 72. The Peak to Peak Highway is closed from just north of Nederland to Ward.

Magnolia Road is closed. Sugarloaf Road remains closed from Switzerland Trail to the Peak to Peak Highway.

Drivers wishing to access Estes Park should use Hwy 36.

The road closures are expected to be constantly changing depending on conditions.

Gross Reservoir also has been closed to the public because of the Cold Springs Fire. The closure includes all parking lots, boat ramps, scenic overlooks and fishing access points around the reservoir.
