Cease And Desist Orders Given To Jurassic Pets Stores
THORNTON, Colo. (CBS4)- The State of Colorado has issued a cease and desist order to the owners of the Jurassic Pets stores in Thornton and Lakewood.
The owner, Kenneth Kubic, was found guilty of mistreating animals in May. The other owner of the store, Lynne Kubic, pleaded guilty last month to animal cruelty.
Witnesses testified the animals were mistreated and malnourished.
Last year Thornton police searched and seized snakes, lizards, rodents and more from the pet store in Thornton. The seizure came after the group People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals infiltrated the stores taking jobs as employees and volunteers. They took video which purports to show rodents being beaten.
Besides the cease and desist order, the licenses have also been declined for the pet stores.
