Emergency Water Restrictions In Place For Monument
MONUMENT, Colo. (CBS4)- Emergency water restrictions remain in place for people who live in Monument.
The local water district says it has eight wells that can pump about 1.8 million gallons of water each day.
Lately demand has spiked at two million gallons.
Residents have been asked to stop watering their lawns until investigators find the cause behind the increase.
"At least they're plenty of water to handle firefighting or whatever else it's needed for. My yard's only slightly important," said one Monument resident.
There is no indication of how long the restriction will remain in place.
