Arenado, Story Still Have Chance As Starters In Last Minute All-Star Balloting

DENVER (CBS4) - The Colorado primary is over, but it's not too late to vote, and vote often for the Major League Baseball All-Star teams.

It's a race to the finish for two Colorado Rockies. Nolan Arenado is gaining ground in the latest tabulations in the National League race for third base. He now trails Chicago Cub Kris Bryant by about 290,000 votes.

Trevor Story has just about the same deficit to erase in final voting in the battle for shortstop. He's second to Addison Russell of the Cubs.

Both Story and Arenado lead the league in home runs and runs batted in at their respective positions.

The closest race in the National League involves former Rockies outfielder Dexter Fowler, now with the Cubs. He's just about 4,000 votes behind Mets outfielder Yoenis Cespedes with more than six million votes cast.

You can vote up to five times a day, but you'd better hurry. Voting ends at 9:59 Thursday night.

Both league rosters will be revealed on Tuesday at 5 p.m.

The 87 Annual All-Star Game will be played at Petco Park in San Diego July 12.
