Plane's Parachute Likely Saved Lives In El Paso County Crash
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (CBS4) - Three men are in the hospital after their plane crashed in El Paso County Saturday afternoon.
Investigators say the plane experienced a complete engine shutdown as it was approaching the Colorado Springs Airport.
The Cirrus SR22 has a parachute. The pilot deployed it and slowly guided the plane to the ground.
It's not clear how seriously the three men were injured. Two were flown to the hospital by helicopter and the third was taken by ambulance.
The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating the crash.
