Police Searching For Suspects After 2 Shot In Fort Collins

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Fort Collins are investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday evening.

According to police, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Dunbar Avenue and Hull Street, in the Silverplume neighborhood, just before 5:30 p.m. Shortly after officers arrived, two people showed up at an urgent care center with gunshot wounds.

The victims were then taken by ambulance to the Medical Center of the Rockies. Police say their injuries are not life threatening.

Everyone involved in the incident left the scene before officers arrived, police say. Witnesses reported seeing two vehicles, a black SUV and a blue SUV, flee the scene. Officers are interviewing people at the hospital. They have not identified any suspects in the case.

Police believe the two sides know each other, but they are not saying how. They don't believe the public is in danger.

After 7 p.m, SWAT officers were seen pointing their weapons toward a condo balcony inside the Silverplume complex.

Ron Harmon lives in a home that shares a wall with the unit officers were focused on. He heard officers yell "Get down," and recorded video of them surrounding the building.

"They were standing below my balcony with like, assault rifles, maybe 5 feet away from me," Harmon said, "I could almost reach out and touch one of them on the head."

Initially, Harmon's neighbor refused to leave his home, but eventually surrendered. He was driven from the scene in a police vehicle and later described by officers as an "uncooperative witness," not a suspect in the case. It's unclear why police want to speak with the man.
