Sanchez Gets First Team Reps In Broncos Minicamp

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (CBS4) - The Broncos held their first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and it appears there is now some order in the quarterback competition.

Veteran Mark Sanchez was the only quarterback to work with the starters during practice. Trevor Siemian worked out with the second team and first round draft pick Paxton Lynch worked out with the third team.

After practice Sanchez said he expects to be the the No. 1 quarterback at the start of training camp.

"You have to expect that, and that's the way you have to compete. There's no second guessing yourself. On the field you've got to be the baddest dude out there and play your butt off," he said.

Siemian and Lynch also spoke to reporters about the assignments.

"From what I understand everything's kind of fluid right now and guys are getting reps here and there, so that's not my job to call it, I'm just trying to do the best I can with the reps I can right now," Siemian said.

"I don't know if this is permanent what he's going to do but this is what (Coach Gary Kubiak) is doing now, so the way I see it is I'm still getting my reps, so I'm going to take advantage of every single one of those reps when I get the opportunity to and then when the opportunity comes if I get to get bumped up, I get to get bumped up," Lynch said.
