Von Miller Joins Team In DC, Hails Progress In Contract Talks

DENVER (CBS4) - The Denver Broncos and defensive star Von Miller have yet to reach an agreement on a new contract, but that didn't stop Miller from joining his Super Bowl 50 championship teammates at the White House for a visit with the president.

Miller wore a royal blue suit and shiny purple shoes with white laces for Monday afternoon's ceremony with President Barack Obama in the Rose Garden.

"(Obama) said he liked my shoes, and he liked my dance moves, too, so everything was all good," said Miller, whose offseason has included an appearance as a contestant on the ABC show "Dancing With The Stars."

The Super Bowl 50 MVP has not signed his franchise tag tender and so far has not taken part in any practices with the team.

Over the past few days, Miller says contract negotiations with the Broncos have been going well.

"We've made real progress," Miller told reporters after the meeting with the president. "I'm very optimistic about the whole thing."

Miller also fielded a question about his teammate Aqib Talib, who was shot in the leg at a strip club in Dallas over the weekend and spent Sunday in the hospital.

"He's going to be okay," Miller said.
