'Jodi's Race For Awareness' Supports The Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance

DENVER (CBS4) - More than 3,000 people will be at Denver's City Park next Saturday in support of the Colorado Ovarian Cancer Alliance and the 7th annual Jodi's Race for Awareness.

Ovarian cancer survivor Reggie Randall and a Jodi's race participant since the beginning, Jennifer Manta, stopped by CBS4 studios to talk about the race.

"Jodi Brammeier was actually a friend and neighbor of mine and she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer when she was only 41, completely blindsided. And looking back she realized she had symptoms and had she only known she would have gone to a doctor earlier," Manta said. "She wanted to do something to raise awareness and she was a runner, so she thought that a 5K would be the best way to do it."

Runners can also bring their dogs to the race.

"For $10 registration you can also bring your dog and participate -- run or walk," Randall said.

There will be a tent set up with a dog watering station for those who bring their furry friends.

For more information and to register for the race visit jodisrace.org.
