Semi Trailer Fire Causes I-70 Backup In Mountains
SILVER PLUME, Colo. (CBS4) - A semi trailer caught fire late Friday morning on Interstate 70 in the mountains and caused a big traffic backup. All lanes were open just after 2 p.m.
The fire started sometime after 11 a.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway near Silver Plume, just west of Georgetown.
The semi was hauling flour. All the product will need to be removed before the truck can be hauled away.
There's no word so far what the semi was hauling.
The interstate was closed in both directions while emergency crews worked to put out the fire.
