Ohio Child Predator Gets 48 Years In Prison Thanks To Jeffco Investigators

GOLDEN, Colo. (CBS4) - An Ohio man has been sentenced to 48 years in prison thanks to the Jefferson County District Attorney's Child Sex Offender Internet Investigations (CHEEZO) Unit.

According to Pam Russell with the district attorney's office, Larun Eugene Miller, 47, was arrested, tried, convicted, and sentenced in the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Ohio for attempting to lure who he thought was an underage teen on the internet.

"On May 28, 2014 CHEEZO investigators were sitting idle in a chat room when they were contacted by 45-year-old Miller who was using the screen name 'seeking younger75.' Communications began between Miller and an undercover investigator posing as an underage teen," Russell said in a statement. "They communicated online and on the telephone. The communication became very sexually graphic."

Miller told the undercover officer he was sending her a bus ticket so she could travel to Ohio to meet him.

When investigators were able to identify Miller they found out he was a sex offender on federal probation for a sex offense involving a child.

"Miller told the teen persona that while he was in the process of sending her a bus ticket, he was meeting with a teen in Ohio. In light of the child protection issues involved with Miller admitting he was meeting an actual teen, D.A., investigators immediately contacted law enforcement in Ohio," Russell said.

Authorities in Ohio arrested Miller and found other children he was communicating with and child pornography in his possession.
