3 Family Members Arrested In Connection With Infant's Death

GREELEY, Colo. (CBS4) - Police in Greeley have arrested three people in connection with the death of a 4-month-old infant last August.

According to police, Angelica Rey Chavez, 29; Roberto Nathaniel Archuleta, 31; and Sandy Archuleta, 53, were all arrested on felony child abuse resulting in death charges.

On Aug. 2, 2015, officers responded to an apartment in the 2800 block of 28th Street on a call about an infant who wasn't breathing. Donovan Archuleta was transported to Northern Colorado Medical Center and then flown to Children's Hospital in Aurora where he died.

Responding officers and paramedics noted that there were visible injuries on the child and investigators suspect child abuse in his death.

"An intensive investigation began and continued throughout the past eight months which was culminated with arrest warrants being issued for the three adults directly responsible for the infant's care," Sgt. Joseph Tymkowych said in a statement.

All three remain in custody at the Weld County Jail pending an appearance in court.
